Project Description

R-951 Residence is a modern, energy efficient, three-apartment building and is the first residential project in New York City to have both Passive House & Net Zero Ready certifications. The building employs sophisticated sustainable methods that include a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) array and a rainwater harvesting system. This architectural project was designed, developed and built by Paul A. Castrucci, Architects PLLC with Further Inc., demonstrating our dedication to smart design, sustainability, and building quality. R-951 Residence also provides an example of how developers can leverage the New York City’s Green Zone regulations with optimal results. Inspired by the rich textural qualities of exterior shutters in dense, urban areas of Asia, the front, south facing façade is articulated with a dynamic folding screen system which give residents control over the solar gain in each home.
