Built in 1948, the 2-bedroom single-family Bronx home had no insulation. When asked to reconfigure it for a family with two young boys, it was clear to everyone that Passive House principles and components were a perfect fit. The building was clad on the exterior with a STO wall system and provided with a new insulated asphalt roof and triple glazed vinyl windows and doors. The mechanical equipment includes a Zhender ERV, a Mitsubishi Heat Pump for heating & cooling and a heat pump domestic how water system. All of the appliances are electric and all of the lighting is LED.
