211 Warren Street is located in the Downtown Historic District of Hudson, New York. The building replaces a historic home lost due to severe weather during the foundation work at the beginning of the restoration. The design received approval from the Historic Preservation Commission after some minor revisions. It is the first new building on Warren Street in decades and is a departure from previous replications of the historic fabric. It is instead a reflection of the street with a modern interpretation. The house is designed to meet the Passive House Institute US requirements and has received approval of the design for certification. The completed house will include a small storefront on the ground floor, similar to the original building and matching most of the buildings on this busy commercial street. 211 Warren Street is PHIUS+ 2018 & Source Zero Pre-Certified. The Passive House Building Energy Standard promoted by PHIUS is the most rigorous building energy standard in the world. Certified Passive House Consultants who have obtained the right through PHIUS to carry the graphic passive house logo and the CPHC designation, have committed themselves to design excellence and the passive house energy performance and quality criteria.
